EPUB® 3 defines a distribution and interchange format for digital publications and documents. The EPUB format provides a means of representing, packaging, and encoding structured and semantically enhanced web content — including HTML, CSS, SVG, and other resources — for distribution in a single-file container.
What does “Baseline widely available” mean to #developers?
A recent survey, run by @lolaodelola, found that 29.9% believe that it guarantees that a web feature works with assistive technologies like screen readers or voice control (it doesn't!), while 47.2% of respondents familiar with the term Baseline know it doesn't... or simply don't know whether it does.
45.3% also assume that it means support in WebViews (it may not!).

W3C Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 3.0 will provide a wide range of recommendations for making web content more accessible to users with disabilities. Following these guidelines will address many of the needs of users with blindness, low vision and other vision impairments; deafness and hearing loss; limited movement and dexterity; speech disabilities; sensory disorders; cognitive and learning disabilities; and combinations of any of these disabilities. These guidelines address the accessibility of web content on desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, wearable devices, and other Web of Things devices. The guidelines apply to various types of web content, including static, dynamic, interactive, and streaming content; audiovisual media; virtual and augmented reality; and alternative access presentation and control. These guidelines also address related web tools such as user agents (browsers and assistive technologies), content management systems, authoring tools, and testing tools.

and of course, one of the main parts of my job (and often also spare time) is to try and unfuck some of the clearly wrong, vague, handwavy, incongruous, outdated mumblings of some #WCAG success criteria. so I'm probably "part of the problem" here. i often wish WCAG was just a set of suggestions/aims, rather than the kudgel it turned into to force some sort of compliance. but hey ho ... #accessibility #a11y
not going to lie, one of the worst side effects of #WCAG has been the obsession with reading the tea leaves of what a particular SC means (many of these written almost 20 years ago), which SC to fail things under, and generally an obsession (from industry/product owners) to satisfy WCAG ... rather than focusing on actual #accessibility (which often goes beyond WCAG, or involves things that simply fall between SCs, or are just "best practice" rather than hard fails). but it is what it is... #a11y
